“Great American Songbook” Concert by We3

Desert Hills Presbyterian Church (DHPC) is pleased to present the next concert in its Arts at the Rocks performing arts series, as it welcomes We3 to the stage on Sunday, July 16 at 4 p.m. at 34605 N. Tom Darlington Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz. 85266. Consisting of vocalist Renee Patrick, violinist Suzanne Lansford and pianist Nicole Pesce, We3 will perform iconic works from the Great American Songbook (often referred to as “American Standards”). After the concert, DHPC will host an ice cream social in its Fellowship Center. There is no admission fee for the concert.

Considered the canon of the most important and influential American popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century, the Great American Songbook includes many of the enduring tunes that were created for Broadway theatre, musical theatre and musical films between the 1920s and 1950s. Featuring composers such as George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Rodgers & Hart, Cole Porter and many more – as well as works ranging from “Summertime” to “Cheek to Cheek” to “The Way You Look Tonight” – the July 16 concert will showcase the music and lyrics that make these songs unforgettable, combined with We3’s personal style and unique touch on every note.
